Development of the draft neighbourhood plan has been a time consuming task which started back in 2016!. The graphic below shows key elements of our story so far – and we’re not finished yet!

AECOM Appointed
AECOM engaged to deliver a housing needs assessment for the Forum area.
Locality Funding Secured
The Forum’s application for grant funding from Locality was approved. Expenditure prior to this was provided by members and from events.
2nd Community Consultation – Forum Objectives Established
Forum objectives presented at a Community Consultation Event.
Formal Recognition Received
The Forum was formally recognised by South Tyneside Council in January 2018. First AGM held. Publication of Strategic Land Review by South Tyneside Council.
Formal Establishment of the East Boldon Forum
Application made to South Tyneside Council to formally establish a East Boldon as a Neighbourhood Forum. Constitution and other supporting documents submitted to South Tyneside Council.
1st Consultation – Finding Out What Matters
Meeting for the local community to join the Forum and find out what matters to them. The proposed Forum Area Boundary is discussed and agreed.
Idea for a Neighbourhood Forum is conceived
First meeting of residents interested in establishing a constituted Neighbourhood Forum for East Boldon.
Informal meeting to discuss a Neighbourhood Forum
A small group of residents met to discuss starting a Neighbourhood Forum.
